Harold Springs

In Memory of Harold Springs

I recently had the privilege of meeting and visiting with Harold Springs.

Mr. Springs was a drag racing promoter/track operator/announcer for many years. Several of those years were spent at Atlanta Speed Shop Dragway. He was also a partner with Julius Hughes on several dragsters. Mr. Springs had a big part in staging the first NHRA Gatornationals (February 1970) in Gainesville, Florida. He even found time to write a column (Dixie News) in Drag News. Considered one of the best promoters of his era, Harold Springs brought us some of the greatest drag racing action in the country.
