David,
I think you could post this picture of my Falcon on your site. The picture is from the May, 66 issue of Drag Racing Magazine. The reason I believe it qualifies for your site is that it was built in Hubert Platt's basement in Atlanta. After he finished it, we took it to Dallas, GA where he had a match race with Arnie Beswick's blown GTO. He had handling problems because the steering arm between the steering box and front axle was flexing. When you let off the throttle, the wheels would go into a hard shake as the car slowed down. Consequently, he only made one pass against Beswick. He had gotten the body from Holman Moody. It was one of three cars they had built for the LeMans race in 64. Other than the usual fiberglass body parts and aluminum bumpers, it had a fiberglass rally style dashboard. In other words, where the glove compartment would have been it was an open tray for map storage, etc.
I think it would be interesting if you mention he built it in his basement and that it was the second of three Falcons he built. The first was his original, then mine and the third being the Dick Walter's Ford Iowa Shaker that he ran while he was waiting for his Mustang which became the Dick Loehr Stampede car. -- Tommy McNeely
