Atlanta Dragway Results
RACE DATE: March 1, 2003FROM: Tim Glover EVENT: Summit / Hayes Bracket Series race at Atlanta Dragway RAIN STOPS FIRST SUMMIT / HAYES BRACKET SERIES EVENT AT ATLANTA DRAGWAY (Saturday, March 1 - Atlanta Dragway) For the second Saturday in a row, rain prevented any racers from going down the track at Atlanta Dragway. A large group of racers showed up hoping to participate in the first Summit ET Series bracket race presented by Hayes Family Dealerships. A record turnout of tomorrow's racers, the Jr. Dragster contingent, was also on hand to go racing. "It's a great disappointment, but you can't fight the elements," said track manager Craig Armstrong. The next Summit / Hayes bracket series event is scheduled for March 8, 2003. Sanctioned by the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA), Atlanta Dragway is located just off I-85 at Exit 149 in the Banks Crossing area of Commerce, Georgia. Information on all 2003 events, including the 23rd annual Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Southern Nationals presented by Pontiac on May 1 - 4, may be obtained by calling the track office (706-335-2301).
