Bill Hughes

In Memory of Bill Hughes, December, 1936 - November, 1994

(The following information was provided by Bill's daughter, Irene McClure.)

1954: Graduated Jonesboro High School

1956 - 1958: Served in the Army

1960s until his death: He was involved with many racing activities:

• Atlanta Speed Shop with Julius Hughes, Jr.
• Atlanta Speed Shop Dragstrip
• Spartanburg, SC Dragstrip
• Honest Charlies with Julius Hughes, III
• Dyno Don Nicholson
• The Platt family
• Buck Campbell
• Jim Kinnett and Kinnett Racing
• John Reed - Reed Cams
• Gary Dingler - Dingler Racing
• Member of NHRA
• Track photographer
• NASCAR Racing

I'm sure there are many others. If I left you out it was merely by accident.

Wife: Hennie Hughes; Daughter and Son-in-Law, Irene and Mike McClure

Grandchildren: Joshua, Heather & Zachary

You have your family, and then you have your racing family. I would like to thank the racing family for the support and friendship you have shown my dad and my family. We have some great memories and now I am trying to help my kids have racing memories and to learn about the legacy their GrandDad left behind. I have also followed my dad's footsteps in that I, too, am a photographer.
