This is the ex-Bill Tanner Hemi Challenger owned by Henry Hartken. Terry Earwood drove the SS/DA Challenger to a runner-up finish in Super Stock Eliminator at Indy in '71. Terry told me that a valve spring (or rocker arm) broke just before the final round race. Terry won several races driving this potent SS/DA machine. You should hear the story about when Terry and Bill Tanner went to Detroit and picked up two Plum Crazy Hemi Challengers from Chrysler (this one and a 4 speed car that became Bill's Pro Stocker) and drove them back to Atlanta! Terry came back to Indy in 1973 and drove Steve Bagwell's Hemi Cuda convertible SS/EA to a win in Super Stock. -- David Dilbeck
