Reid drove this Daytona in 1984 after a "retirement" from drag racing of several years. The car was featured in the September 1984 SS&DI magazine. Reid has always had sharp appearing cars, and this Don Hardy Race Cars Daytona was no exception. Dick Landy Industries assembled the 500 ci hemi and Tim Thompson applied the paint. The magazine lists Butch Aikman as crewchief and Terry Worm as the crew. Reid ran a controversial 7.615 @ 174.41 at the 1984 Gatornationals against Ken Dondero in this car. -- David Dilbeck
