That was the first year of Super Comp. I think it was 1981. We were runner-up at the Division 2 race in Commerce, Georgia. That is Buster Couch watching in the background. The car was owned by Byron Koury of Titusville, Florida, and I drove it for him for 3 years. I later purchased the car and it was a killer in quick 8 and quick 16 races at Orlando Speed World. At the time of the picture it had a 355 cu. in. motor with a power glide. The car could run 8.69 at 169 mph. I red lighted on that run and ran it out the back door and ran a 8.70. -- Art Gravatt
