Julius Hughes III (and the Hughes family) has announced that an open house at the newly constructed Atlanta Speed Shop will be held during the 2004 NHRA Southern Nationals. Although not yet open for business, Julius invites everyone by for a tour of the new building May 13-15th 7:00 PM until 10:00 PM.

The late Julius Hughes, Jr. (NHRA Southeast Division Hall of Fame member & 1965 NHRA Division 2 Top Fuel Champion) operated the original Atlanta Speed Shop and the Atlanta Speed Shop Dragway for many years. Julius, along with partners Frank Brumby and the late Harold Springs, also campaigned a series of "Zot" race cars.
