(Return to Georgia Drag Racing Photo Gallery main page.)

Former NHRA advisor Eddie Vidrine suggested that I post old ads or flyers and he submitted the first one. Thanks for the suggestion, Edddie. If you have anything that you would like considered, please send them in!

Eddie Vidrine submitted this classic advertisement for the 1967 Atlanta $10,000 event held at Atlanta Speed Shop Dragway in Covington, GA.

1962 Yellow River Drag Strip Ad
This advertisement is from the April 5, 1962 edition of Drag Strip News. Drag Strip News was an Atlanta area weekly drag racing newspaper. Yellow River Drag Strip was one of the first drag strips to offer large cash payouts (instead of trophies or bonds) to stock bodied classes. This was one of the reasons "Dyno" Don Nicholson moved to Atlanta ( per Don Nicholson in a September 2002 interview ).

8th Annual Atlanta $10,000 Ad
This is from a 1971 Atlanta Constitution newspaper.
